Trust & Quality
Footwear Quality & Compliance for Private Label Projects
Lajwanti Designers builds quality and compliance into every stage of a footwear project — not checked at the end. This page explains how we work with brands on materials, sampling, production and documentation for qualified B2B private-label projects.
How We Approach It
How Lajwanti Designers approaches quality and compliance.
Instead of promising standards we cannot verify, we build every project around the checkpoints and documentation that make quality visible — from the first reference through to the final approved sample.
Quality Checkpoints
Where quality gets checked in a project.
Every footwear project passes through the same five checkpoints. Each one is confirmed before the next begins.
Materials
Upper, lining, sole and trim reviewed before cutting.
Sample
Fit, build and finish checked against the approved spec.
Pre-Production
Confirmed design, materials and hardware locked in.
Production
In-line checks during assembly, stitching and finishing.
Pre-Shipment
Final review of build, packing and labelling before dispatch.
What We Check
What quality control looks at.
The categories below are the practical areas reviewed at each checkpoint during a footwear project.
Materials & components
Upper, lining, sole, hardware and trims are reviewed against the confirmed specification before production begins.
- Material type and finish checked against the approved sample
- Colour consistency across panels and batches
- Hardware and trims inspected on receipt
- Substitution only with written client approval
Construction & build
Panels, stitching, bonding and attachment are inspected against the sample that was approved.
- Panel alignment, stitching density and seam placement
- Upper-to-sole attachment and bond strength
- Heel attachment and balance where applicable
- Linings, insoles and sock fit
Fit & comfort
Fit is checked against the approved last and any feedback from the sample stage.
- Length, width and arch position
- Heel height and balance for the target style
- Forefoot bend and flex point
- Fit changes confirmed in writing before production
Finish & appearance
Final appearance is checked against the approved sample so no visible surprises reach your customers.
- Colour, texture and surface finish per style
- Edge finishing and stitch consistency
- Hardware finish and placement
- Cleaning and presentation of the finished shoe
Labelling & packing
Labels, size marks and packing are matched to your destination market and your brand requirements.
- Size marking and country-of-origin labelling
- Care and material labelling where required
- Box, tissue and presentation per brand instruction
- Carton marking and quantity verification
Documentation
Written records support the project from specification through to the final approved sample.
- Confirmed specification and design approvals
- Sample review notes and revision history
- Material and component confirmations
- Pre-shipment review notes on request
Testing & Compliance
Testing, documentation and market requirements.
Testing and compliance requirements vary by market, product category and brand policy. Here is how those are handled in a project.
Testing & documentation
Testing requirements depend on your market, product category and brand policy. Where testing is required, the scope, laboratory and reporting format are confirmed with you before samples are submitted.
- Test scope and standards agreed in writing before submission
- Testing arranged through third-party laboratories on request
- Reports shared with you directly, not summarised or paraphrased
- Project-specific documentation kept as part of the design and sample record
- Product-specific claims are only published when supported by verified evidence
Compliance by market
Compliance rules depend entirely on where you sell. We work to your market requirements rather than assuming a single global standard.
- Labelling and material content requirements for your destination market
- Restricted substances and material traceability policies
- Safety, occupational and regulated-category requirements (for safety & work footwear)
- Customs, origin and import documentation requirements
- Brand-specific compliance policies your business already works to
Before You Start
What to confirm before a project begins.
The earlier compliance and testing requirements are known, the smoother the design and sample stages run. Tell us these four things at the brief stage and the project can be built around them from day one.
- Destination marketWhere the product will be sold and which country's rules apply.
- Product categoryFashion footwear, bridal, men's formal, occupational or safety.
- Required testing or documentationAny test reports, declarations or labelling your buyer or market requires.
- Brand-level policiesAny restricted substances, material sourcing or sustainability rules your brand already follows.
